About Luciano
I am a 22 year old nerd that loves maths, video games, and creativity.
I've always been the kind of person to give anything a try, never thinking that a task was too difficult or "out of my league" in some way. I think that's the reason why i was good at maths, that and the fact that i had great teachers who saw when i made mistakes and taught me the correction without making me feel stupid or small.
Honestly, I'm here doing this now because of them, and because i feel like Maths has a reputation for gatekeeping and intellectual snobbery that i take genuine pride in actively going against and teaching people to do the same.

I think that often the main issue that students run into is that:
a) their fundamentals need practice
b) they struggle to grasp the thought process they are expected to follow when faced with a exam style maths question
or, most frequently of all...
c) a lack of confidence that they are smart enough
I truly believe that Maths can be genuinely satisfying when you know what's going on.
...and by clearly putting forward what you're expected to "just know", by teaching the patterns that questions often follow and the systems / methods that exist to combat each of those questions, there isn't much room for NOT "knowing what's going on".
My teaching style is reasonably casual, prioritising clarity, and support, leaning significantly towards the carrot as opposed to the stick, and treating each student as an adult with respect, regardless of their age.
I don't set large quantities of work, in order to "brute force" their learning. Instead, setting the task and watching them talk through their attempt / process to see how i can help. This stems from the fact i believe that once you know how to do something, all that's left is reminding yourself that you know it every now and then.
