About Kate
I have an MA in French and German from the University of St Andrews and have specialised in English teaching (4 - 16 years) in my career where I have worked as a senior leader at the best independent schools in London, Yorkshire and Paris.
I have successfully coached students to gain entry (11+) into the top state school in the North as well as tutoring Y10 and Y11 students in English and French - all of whom achieved higher grades than predicted. One of my SEN pupils who was predicted a 3/4 at best in the English GCSEs recently received a 5 and 6.
I am skilled with multi-lingual learners, having taught abroad for several years and I am good at motivating disengaged pupils.
I am a published writer and former trustee of Arvon - the UK's leading creative writing charity.
