About Ian
Having just finished writing a historical epic that follows the Third Punic War (and at a whopping 1700 pages), I can say with a high degree of confidence that I'm a committed and passionate author.
This most recent novel was a tour de force in terms of research, complex character arcs, as well as plot twists engineered to run like a Swiss watch. As for inspiration, they came from Homer's Iliad & Odyssey, Jonathan Keats, Brandon Sanderson, Ursula Le Guin, Frank Herbert, Aldous Huxley, T.S. Eliot, and plenty more.
As for my process, writing starts at 5 PM—without fail. If it's an all night bender to see my stories realized, then that's what it is, but I never confuse my art with “content.”

Reading & writing has been my passion since I wrote a History paper on Genghis Khan in the 5th grade, and I've been unable to keep myself from pen and paper ever since.
My classes are rigorous, context-dependent, and rhetorically rich. Based in a research-intensive academic background, my typical class examines the historical and sociocultural influences affecting art, literature, prose, and how that manifests in the text. Everything—right down the an em dash—is studied to define intent and purpose, both creatively and structurally.
I don't waste your time with standardized tests. My job as an educator and author to help you develop critical thinking skills, an appreciation of the written word, literature, and most importantly, empathy.
My bachelor's degree in Anthropology, and master's in Special & General education guarantee a pedagogically sound and rigorous approach to academic & fiction reading/writing I've only refined as I continue to teach the subject to students young and old.
My typical learner spans ages, from children to adults; from grade school to college, and beyond. Those interested in refining their grasp of the English language, both, mechanically and stylistically, are encouraged to contact me. Whether it be for pleasure, intellectual betterment, academic, or otherwise, contact me so we explore the rich world of literature together.
