About Eliza
I majored in Math and Stats at Utah State university, and worked at the tutoring center at Utah State University as well! I completed training courses there, am CRLA certified up through level 2, and completed bi-annual performance reviews throughout my time as a University tutor. I've tutored hundreds of people from ages 17 through adulthood in over 15 math and statistics courses, so you're in good hands :)

As a previous math and stats tutor at my university, I've worked with hundreds of students in classes ranging from pre-algebra through Calculus 3, as well as various statistics courses. I'm passionate that anyone can learn math, as long as it's presented in a way that they can understand it. Even my classmates and I think about math differently, and it's so important to be able to present concept in various ways with pictures, examples, analogies and varied approaches until you find one that works for you!
My teaching method is centered around meeting the students goals, and only going in as much depth as they want to! After discussing how much you already know, we can fill in the gaps you're missing to understand the content. I prefer a patterned approach to problems with guided questions, so that when our sessions end you know how to continue on your own, instead of staring at the next problem feeling stuck.
I know what it's like to feel confused, lost, and defeated in class or while trying to do your homework. The first time I learned algebra and calculus 1, I was incredibly confused and felt like I was the only one not understanding it, and now I've spent the last 2 years helping others understand things in ways that work for them!
