About Lenora
I am a certified math teacher with 17 years classroom experience, a Masters in Education from University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Mathematics from University of Minnesota. I teach students for the unique way that they learn & help build foundational skills necessary for contined sucess. I help students master their learning experience by learning their mind so they can be their own advocates in the clsssroom. I provide resources and incentives for students to be motivated in each session as well as create trackers for student progress.
I specialize in Middle School Math, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, and SAT/ACT/GED Prep.
After 17 years of teaching, I've learned...
1. Anyone can learn anything if they believe they can learn
2. Love first to teach well
3. The teacher must allow themselves to be a student
4. Teaching is a spiritual practice. Teachers must stay positive to help students find their motivation.

First, I find out when the student started finding math difficult so I can anticipate where they may need the most help. Then we will complete a short diagnostic just to see where their understanding falls short. We will then work on the most basic skill necessary for them to be at their math grade level.
I worked with students 4th - 12th grade mostly from Philadelphia. I have 3 years experience teaching ESL classes with students who spoke Spanish, French, Arabic and Vietamese.
Choose a teacher that communicates the way you need and be sure to say when you do not understand things
I am also a performing poet and I very fond of creating events dedicated to the arts. I often host and attend open mics and art shows.

Perfect! For my daughter it was really important for her to see and work with an accomplished African American female and Lenora did not disappoint. She is very knowledgeable, flexible and patient and because of this my daughter went from C grade in algebra to a B+. Without Lenora’s ability to make math simple and plain this would not have been possible. We plan on working with her throughout the rest of high school as well as college. If anyone is looking for a math tutor, you can’t go wrong with Lenora.

Perfect! Lenora is an excellent math tutor. I would highly recommend her without hesitation. She was well versed in Algebra but, more importantly, she's a great teacher and an inspiring confidence builder. She helped my daughter late in the semester with several urgent and long review sessions -- prior to this, I had never seen my daughter confident in her ability to handle math tests. And she did! After meeting with Lenora, her scores improved and she voluntarily retook a couple of past tests to get her grade up. Thank you, Lenora!

Amazing tutoring builds special bonds with students, super reliable and is so genuine and overall just a 10/10!
Lenora has been working with our daughter for over a year now focusing on math. Transitioning from 8th grade to 9th, our daughter made great improvements in both her grades and understanding.
Lenora is very flexible and knowledgeable. Our son sees her for math tutoring and she's been terrific. She helps him look at things step by step and gives him advice about how to engage what he already knows to help him solve problems. He has gained a lot of confidence and skills since starting tutoring with her. She's also been great and working with us during busier times to find times to meet that work for all of us. She's become part of our team and we really value her and her energy.
Magee Mastermind tutoring showed my 17 y/o student how he could research problems he faced on his own and helped him bring up his failing calc grade up to a B.
Lenora is so kind, patient, and encouraging while at the same time challenging our 16-y/o child to reach their full potential. She is good at getting our kid engaged in their least favorite subject and giving them more confidence around it. Lenora was the soul reason I was able to graduate highschool. For the first time in my academic career I not only passed my math class I had an A. I maintained that A for 3 trimesters. All my life my highest grade in math had been a C. Lenora gave me all the confidence and skills I needed. I’ll be working with her throughout college too! I highly recommend her. Specially if you’re neurodivergent like me. Having a learning disability made me feel like I had no hope. But working with lenora completely changed my life.
