About Mariajose
I am a Mechanical Engineer with 14 years of professional experience, which has given me a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of problem-solving, logic, and applied mathematics. In addition, I have 6 years of experience as a math tutor, helping students strengthen their skills and gain confidence in math. My engineering background allows me to explain mathematical concepts clearly and practically, connecting theory with real-life applications. As a tutor, I am patient, supportive, and focused on adapting each lesson to the student’s individual needs and learning pace. I have worked with students at different academic levels, providing academic support, homework help, and exam preparation. I enjoy teaching and helping students build both understanding and confidence in mathematics.

My lessons are fully personalized to each student’s level, learning style, and goals. I focus on helping students truly understand math concepts through clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and guided practice.
During each session, we review key topics, work through examples together, and practice independently with support. I create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
Lessons are taught online using Zoom or Google Meet and can be conducted in English or Spanish. I also provide homework support, exam preparation, and strategies to improve organization and study habits.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them feel more confident and independent in math.
