About AD
I have always excelled in math in one form or another, but this is not because I have ever been quick to memorize any particular formula or procedure. Rather, my success in math had always been born out of an unyielding academic curiosity and a healthy disregard towards the collective narrative dictating that math is made up of arbitrary rules that have little bearing on the real world. I have always felt and seen its relevant in all aspects of the world around us, especially in this digital age.
Though I have not yet graduated college as I needed time away for personal reasons, this has nonetheless never ceased my academic interests and my own self-directed development of my knowledge and mind. Soon, I will re-enroll for Electrical Engineering, but in this forum, my own innate curiosity and desire to help others are far greater assets than any nuanced understanding of extremely complex concepts could be.

I begin with new students by asking questions to discover what they are learning in class as well as to gauge where their understanding of the subject's concepts lie. I am a strong believer in the "why," especially with math. And so, while my lessons are geared towards middle and high school students tackling the core aspects of the Real Number System, the lessons are never about rote procedure.
I do not expect a student to follow a mathematical process without first understanding why it is true and works. In this, the student's initial understanding will dictate where the lessons begin. Once the most fundamental area of struggle is identified, we then work over its concepts from many angles through the lens of real world models and natural phenomena. Once true understanding crystallizes, repetitions through problem sets then becomes the focus to ensure applicable ability.
