About Zachary
My passion for mathematics started with a fascination for patterns, logic, and problem-solving in the natural and technological world. This curiosity led me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematics and an M.Sc in Applied Statistics, blending theoretical rigour with practical applications. Over 9 years of teaching, I have guided learners at all levels, from beginners developing foundational skills to advanced students preparing for competitive exams, research, or academic projects. My teaching philosophy emphasises clarity, analytical reasoning, and confidence-building alongside conceptual understanding.
I teach with patience, empathy, and structured methodology, using clear explanations, visual aids, and practical exercises to make abstract concepts tangible. I encourage independent thinking, inquiry, and curiosity, helping students develop both competence and intellectual confidence. My lessons focus on understanding why concepts work, fostering long-term comprehension and analytical skill.
Outside teaching, I engage in applied mathematical research, problem-solving initiatives, and statistical modelling projects. By incorporating real-world applications, students gain insight into the relevance of mathematics beyond the classroom. Watching learners progress from uncertainty to mastery, building confidence, analytical skills, and curiosity, is deeply rewarding. My lessons cover algebra, calculus, probability, statistics, and applied problem-solving strategies. I focus on conceptual understanding, helping learners see patterns, identify solutions, and build strong analytical reasoning skills. Lessons integrate visual demonstrations, real-life examples, interactive exercises, and step-by-step explanations, making complex topics approachable, engaging, and intellectually stimulating.
Lesson plans are tailored to learners’ abilities. Beginners explore arithmetic, basic algebra, and geometry to establish a solid foundation. Intermediate learners engage in calculus, combinatorics, probability, and multi-step problem-solving exercises to strengthen analytical thinking.
