About Emily
I love maths and science - how seemingly simple ideas can be built into really powerful concepts, which can be applied to change the world. I don't consider myself a 'maths geek' - (people are often surprised when they find out I have a first class degree in this subject) - as I love interacting with people so much. I'm imaginative and creative and I like to find ways that feel relatable when teaching. I identify as neurodivergent and from this perspective I like to make lessons welcoming for any accessibility needs - I'll often get us to stand up and have a little move every so often to give the brain a break and allow new ideas to settle.

Maths and science shouldn't be scary or intimidating. My students feel relaxed and confident when approaching topics as we go through them methodically and at the pace they need. I firmly believe these subjects can be understood by anyone with enough encouragement, and I pride myself in being friendly and personable with everyone I work with - from students to parents, and making the learning process as enjoyable as it can be. Whether working through the curriculum or getting ready for a specific exam, I'll help you feel your best when studying. Lessons typically offered at 60 mins, but I'm always happy to adjust as needed (including breaks to not overwhelm the brain!) I've been tutoring maths and science since 2010. I specialise in GCSE but very happy to work with students at any stage in secondary school. Whether you're looking to scrape a pass or go for 100%, I'm here to help you reach your full potential and hopefully have fun on the way.
