About Wenceslao
Hello! My name is Wenceslao Del Cid. I am a passionate and experienced Math tutor with over eight years of experience at a community college helping students build confidence and succeed in their math courses. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, and I have a strong foundation in subjects ranging from Algebra to Calculus and beyond. I often use humor to make challenging topics more approachable. Students have told me they actually started to enjoy math after working with me — a compliment I value deeply. I'm proud to still keep in touch with a few students who have gone on to reach, and even surpass, my own skills. Their persistence and success continue to inspire me every day.

I believe every student learns differently, and I tailor my tutoring approach to meet each student's unique needs and learning style. My goal is not just to help students solve problems, but to help them truly understand the material, develop strong study habits, and build lasting self-confidence.
I like to begin by understanding where the student currently stands by asking what they know, what they’re unsure of, and how they approach problems. From there, I build a customized path forward, reinforcing their foundation while introducing new concepts in a structured and accessible way.
I aim not just to help students complete assignments, but to give them the confidence and tools to solve problems independently. Additionally, I aim to keep each interaction light-hearted, motivating, and enjoyable.
I have primarily worked with high school and college-level students and have most recently worked with middle school students. I’ve worked with STEM majors, general education students, and those preparing for standardized exams or foundation-level engineering courses.
