About Vasilisa
I’m a mechanical engineering college student with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics. I completed 12 AP classes and graduated with a 4.0 GPA in high school, and I use that academic experience to help students master challenging material with confidence. I’m patient, reliable, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable and motivated to improve.

I focus on building intuition first, helping students understand why something works before memorizing formulas. I break concepts down into simple, digestible steps and use real-world examples to make the subject feel logical, not intimidating. I also adapt my approach to each student’s learning style, whether they learn best through visuals, practice problems, or verbal explanations.
Each session begins with a quick check-in to see what the student is working on and to identify any questions they may have. From there, I break down the main concept for the day using clear explanations, examples, and visuals when needed. We then work through practice problems together, gradually increasing the difficulty as they gain confidence. After that, they can try a few problems on their own while refining their approach. We finish with a short review of the key ideas and a simple plan for what to focus on before the next lesson.
I tutor all grade levels, including:
- Elementary & Middle School (pre-algebra, algebra foundations)
- High School (Algebra I/II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics)
- Students preparing for standardized tests (SAT and AP exams)
