About Maria
Hi! My name is Maria, and I'm originally from Canada. I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Melbourne after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Master's degree in Medical Sciences at McMaster University.
For over 10 years, I have been tutoring students in Grades 1–12 in mathematics and science. Throughout that time, I have developed a patient, supportive, and individualized teaching approach that helps students build a strong understanding of concepts while increasing their confidence.
One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is seeing students grow from feeling frustrated or unsure to becoming confident and excited about learning. Whether your child needs help catching up, strengthening foundational skills, or getting ahead, I tailor each lesson to their unique learning style and goals.
My strong academic background, combined with years of teaching experience, allows me to explain challenging concepts in a clear and engaging way. My goal is to help every student not only improve their grades but also develop the confidence and problem-solving skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

With over 10 years of experience as a private tutor and university teaching assistant, I have helped students of all ages and abilities build a strong understanding of mathematics and science.
My lessons are tailored to each student's individual learning style, goals, and pace. I believe that every student can succeed when concepts are explained in a way that makes sense to them. I break complex topics into manageable, easy-to-understand steps, helping students develop a solid foundation before progressing to more advanced material.
