About Emma
Hi there!
My name is Emma, and I am here to help you reach your goals and achieve academic success! I am a recent graduate from the University in Guelph, receiving my Bachelor of Science with Honours majoring in Microbiology. I am currently enrolled at Nipissing University in the Bachelor of Education Teacher Training program. My declared teachables are middle school and high school science, specifically biology and chemistry.
I strongly believe in teacher-student collaboration to promote engagement and success during lessons. Each student has different needs when it comes to their education. I am here to help YOU, therefore I am extremely flexible with developing lesson plans and assessments that are best suited to you and your learning style.

My approach to tutoring involves collaborating with the student to determine their optimal learning style and develop goals for our sessions. From this, I develop my lesson plans to adapt to the student's needs and what they wish to achieve during our time together. I like to use online resources and presentations to deliver lessons. I also believe that worksheets and regular homework are key for information retention (practice, practice, practice!). I implement incremental assessments and discussions to monitor student progress and success. As a recent university graduate, my own experience as a post-secondary student allows me to implement effective study habits that I have developed into my teachings.
I am best fit to tutor middle school and high school students in general sciences, biology, and chemistry.
