Hi! I'm a microbiology student heading to UF this fall. I've earned a 5 on the AP Biology exam, and the Honors Anatomy and Physiology Award at my high school, maintaining an A in both courses.

About Maja
Biology and anatomy have been my favorite subjects since the moment I started studying them, and tutoring is my way of helping other students experience that same shift from "this is overwhelming" to "this actually makes sense."
Outside of academics, I'm a former competitive dancer and varsity weightlifter. I have spent time volunteering in hospital settings, including orthopedics and medical-surgical units, as well as observing in interventional cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery.
I am patient, organized, and genuinely invested in seeing students succeed. Whether you are aiming for an A on your next test, trying to finally make sense of a difficult unit, or preparing for the AP exam, I will meet you where you are and help you build real, lasting confidence in the material.

My lessons are designed for high school students taking biology, anatomy and physiology, or AP Biology, whether the goal is improving a current grade, preparing for an upcoming test, or aiming for a 5 on the AP exam.
Having recently completed these courses myself, I have a clear understanding of which concepts students tend to find most challenging and the strategies that help them genuinely click, such as memory techniques I've created throughout the years ;).
My approach is structured but flexible: I focus on what you actually need to know for your specific class, teacher, and assessments rather than generic review.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in on what you're currently covering and where you feel stuck. From there, I break down the concept using diagrams, analogies, and clear examples until it makes sense. We then work through practice problems together so you can confidently apply the material on your own. If you have an upcoming quiz, test, or lab, we'll tailor the session to prepare for it directly.
What sets me apart is my combination of recent experience and genuine passion for the subject. I'm also currently working toward publishing my original research on vancomycin and Staphylococcus epidermidis biofilm formation in an academic journal, which gives me a strong foundation in scientific thinking that I bring into every lesson.
My goal is to make every student leave feeling as capable as they truly are when facing biology coursework.
