About Christine

Hi, I’m Christine (HsiangHua)! I’m from Taiwan and currently studying for a Master’s in Computer Science at the University of Manchester. I’ve been playing the piano for 19 years, including about 10 years of competitions in Taiwan, where I won many awards, and I hold the Yamaha Grade 6 certificate.

Outside of music, I love watching tennis and figure skating, playing volleyball, reading and singing. I’m a cheerful, easy-going person, and I believe learning the piano should be fun, not stressful. I can teach in English or Mandarin, whichever you prefer.

I hope we get along well and have a great time making music together!

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Christine (HsiangHua), a pianist from Taiwan now living in Manchester. I have played the piano for 19 years, including around 10 years competing in national piano competitions in Taiwan, where I won many awards. I also hold the Yamaha Grade 6 certificate.

Who the lessons are for
Children and adults of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students. Lessons are available in English or Mandarin.

How I teach
I tailor each lesson to the student’s age, goals and pace. We work on good technique and posture, reading music, and playing with real expression, using pieces the student enjoys. With my competition background, I can also help students prepare for exams and performances with confidence. For young children, I keep lessons fun and playful.

Lesson length
All lessons are 60 minutes and take place at the student’s home in Manchester.
