About Nancy
- What kind of experience do you have? I have been playing the oboe for 25 years, and have a wide variety of experience in performing both as a soloist and orchestral musician. I have been teaching woodwind privately for 14 years. I have also led music workshops aimed at various age groups between the ages of 8-18, both in and out of school, and have been involved with planning and leading residential music courses, in which young people created and performed music and learnt about different aspects of staging a concert. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? I have a CRB disclosure certificate.

I am friendly, approachable and fun, and am really passionate about the oboe! - Which subject(s) do you teach? I mainly teach the oboe but I also teach music theory up to Grade 5. - Tell me about your qualifications. I hold a degree in music from the University of Sheffield and a master's degree in performance from the Royal Northern College of Music. As well as performance, my studies at music college involved also classes in instrumental teaching techniques. - How much do you charge? Dependent on the student's ability, I start with half-hour lessons for beginners and increase to hour lessons for more advanced. The cost is £40 per hour - Where do you teach? I am based in West London and am happy to travel to students' homes - When are you available? I arrange lessons on a week by week basis as I have a very varied schedule. - Which ages and levels do you teach? I teach all ages. I teach the oboe to all levels and theory up to Grade 5 - Describe your arrangements for online tutoring. I usually arrange lessons at the student's convenience either on Zoom or Skype
