I first check the students knowledge and understanding. For younger students, repetition is key, whilst at the same time using TPR and realia to ensure understanding.
For older students that are on a higher grade, discussion and practicing the language becomes important, so, I first listen and then correct the sentence formation and any grammar and pronunciation. Repetition for new words is also key.
