I love teaching and enjoy breaking down problems into manageable and easily understood chunks. My previous students have enjoyed their lessons and I aim to personalise all of my classes to suit my students learning style and interests. Maths can seem like a different language and I like to translate it.
I have taught numerous students and had them achieve well above their expectations in Maths GCSE and A-levels. Prior to my postgraduate position, I taught English as a Foreign Language in the UK, Ecuador, and Peru to children and adults, in small groups and large classes.
In my current position as a DPhil student I teach various aspects of the civil engineering content of the ‘General Engineering’ undergraduate course. Most notably tutoring the third year ‘B9 Structures’ module & ‘Engineering Mathematics’ for the UNIQ access scheme for A-Level students.
I also received the General Engineering 3rd Year Teaching Award for ‘Outstanding B Paper tutoring’ in 2019.
I am a hard working, enthusiastic and sociable person with a passion for learning and research, I thrive on challenging projects. I pride myself on performing tasks to the highest level possible and am driven to find and solve problems.
