About Miriam
I'm a recent Oxford graduate (BA Philosophy & Spanish 2:1) looking to help students with Oxbridge and other University applications. I can offer tutoring, coaching and personal statement help, along with providing reading lists & writing tips to help you stand out! I'm happy to tutor in Philosophy, RE and Similar. I can also offer language lessons - I'm bilingual in English and French, and fluent in Spanish.

I can teach KS3 to University level. My style of teaching is creative & practical. We will approach things step-by-step, take lots of notes, and explore lots of different examples.
For University application coaching:
- Help choosing courses & practical UCAS advice
- Personal Statement coaching, including writing tips, help with structure & drafting
- Choosing books to read & work on to improve your subject knowledge, include in your Personal Statement & give you a head start (especially important for Oxbridge applications)
For Philosophy/Humanities lessons:
- Clear, confident communication to ensure you understand everything
- Debating & persuasion tips & coaching
- Lots of examples
- Thematic learning, making sure you have a broad range of knowledge around chosen topics
- Help working through difficult texts and books
For Language lessons:
- A practical approach, focusing on real-life situations (eg. for adult learners) or homework/curriculum support
- Help with revision, marking practice tests etc.
- Accent coaching
- Use of example texts and recordings including music, news and literature
- Knowledge of French & Spanish literature and great works
- Translation theory/creative writing practice for advanced learners
