About Yonathan

I was born in Brazil where I studied in a British school. I have both an IGCSE and an IB diploma. I lived for the last 9 years in Israel where I did my BA and MA. I possess a double graduation in philosophy and sociology & anthropology, along with a teaching license in philosophy, from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. I proceeded to do my MA at the Tel Aviv University with a period at Sciences Po (Paris). I am currently doing my PhD in philosophy at the University of Essex where I also teach at the undergraduate level. I research political theory and teach ‘introduction to politics’ at the government department. I have a lot of teaching experience.

About the lesson

I am an enthusiastic and passionate teacher. I can tutor on humanities and social sciences. I have worked both with higher education and school level students. I believe teaching is about empowering students using their strengths. Knowledge must come from their own development with the content and having me as a catalyst to this process.

I've seen Yonathan in a number of different teaching situations; he is prepared to communicate with people of diverse ages and backgrounds. He shows easiness in providing different explanations and dealing with questions and doubts, and also has experience with multiple didactic approaches. Overall, I think he is an adaptable and committed tutor!
