About Andrew
I graduated from University College London with a First Class Honours in English Literature before training as an English teacher through Teach First at an East London Secondary school. I taught for three years, gaining my PGCE with a distinction and my Qualified Teacher Standards with Outstanding. Since then I have worked as a specialised English teacher at Literacy Charity and supported around 50+ students through private tutoring.

I am a warm enthusiastic tutor, with 8 years of experience designing interventions for students of all abilities and learning styles from Key Stage 3-5. As a former GCSE and A-level examiner, I am also very confident supporting students develop the writing styles and strategies needed for their target grades. I also combine my school teaching and tutoring experience, with my experience working for a literacy charity, that specifically supports students with SEN or literacy challenges develop their confidence and perseverance. I will always try to think of different ways of scaffolding reading or writing to support students.
