About Matdysen
I am well prepared to motivate students and have taken tests within the past week to reaffirm my proficiency in the academic subjects I mentioned earlier. I have my bachelor's degree in Environmental Health however my first major was Biomedical Engineering. As requisites for this major I was challenged to take Calculus I, Calculus II, and Calculus III at my Universities of study. I have attended both the University of Arizona (full ride scholarship and acceptance into the Honors college due to my high PSAT and high school GPA 4.4). I transferred to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where I obtained my degree. I have several years tutoring experience and am familiar with the challenges the learning process presents. I am patient and able to identify the difficult areas and knowledgeable about my approach to individualized problem solving.

I am proficient and knowledgeable in geometry, trigonometry, pre-algebra, algebra I, algebra II, and pre-calc. I can also help with lower-level math and students who find difficulty understanding how to keep numbers organized. I also specialize in English and Writing. Am able to identify opportunities for improvement. I use the scholastic five point rubric to help evaluate student writing skills (ideas, organization, sentence fluency, voice, word choice, conventions, and presentation).
By utilizing personalized approaches, I take into account learning styles, core competency, and address underlying factors that may also be contributing to your hang-ups!
