About Arnold

Completing a PhD at Johns Hopkins provides the rigorous framework I apply to teaching computer programming. Over 13 years, I have helped 462 students navigate the complexities of software development.

I break down APIs and backend basics while emphasizing version control and Git. Teaching object-oriented programming feels natural when you connect the syntax to real-world logic.

You will learn to handle SQL and databases alongside standard JavaScript tasks. Project-based learning is my primary tool for ensuring these concepts stick. It remains satisfying to watch a project finally compile and run correctly after careful debugging.

About the lesson

Frustration often peaks when a student stares at a broken build after hours of attempting to integrate an API. I shift this dynamic by breaking the problem into small, manageable logic gates that make the code readable again. My 10 sessions are designed to move beyond simple syntax errors so you can handle complex backend architecture with confidence. By incorporating data structures and proper database design, we solidify your ability to build functional, scalable applications.

Since I offer a free trial session to gauge current skill level, we can pinpoint exactly where your foundation needs reinforcement. This systematic approach ensures that you possess the technical intuition required for professional development work. My students eventually stop fearing the terminal and start viewing it as a powerful tool for creation. Success in programming comes down to patience and a methodical mindset.
