About Dr Jagdish C

With over 25 years of international teaching experience and a PhD in Chemistry, I provide a level of academic expertise and instructional precision that transforms how students perceive the sciences. My career has been dedicated to bridging the gap between complex theoretical concepts and the practical skills required to excel in high-stakes global examinations.

My legitimacy as an educator is rooted in a unique combination of classroom leadership and professional assessment. As a long-standing IB Diploma Programme Examiner and Moderator, I don't just teach the curriculum; I understand the mechanics of the marking process. This "insider" perspective allows me to equip my students with specific assessment strategies and technical rigor that are often missed in traditional classroom settings. Whether navigating the complexities of IB, Cambridge, AP, or American frameworks, I ensure my students approach their exams with the confidence that comes from complete mastery.

Professionalism and student-centered growth are the hallmarks of my practice. I employ sophisticated, data-driven instructional methods tailored to each learner's unique psychological and academic profile. My lessons are structured, inquiry-based, and designed to foster a growth mindset. When you work with me, you are not just hiring a tutor; you are partnering with a mentor dedicated to nurturing the critical thinking, discipline, and scientific literacy and foundation required during high school necessary for success at the university level and beyond.

Professional Chemistry Instruction by Dr. Jagdish Chandra Sharma
Teaching Method and Techniques
My approach to Chemistry is rooted in the belief that "Chemistry should be discovered, not just taught." I utilize an Inquiry-Based Learning model that pivots away from rote memorization toward conceptual mastery. By integrating STEAM principles and real-world applications, I help students see the "why" behind complex chemical reactions. I leverage my experience as an IB Diploma Programme Examiner to focus on assessment literacy, teaching students exactly how to interpret mark schemes and meet the technical rigor required by global examination boards.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Every session is structured to ensure maximum cognitive engagement and retention:

The Hook (5 mins): A real-world problem or a challenging "Past Paper" question to stimulate inquiry.

Conceptual Mapping (15 mins): Breaking down complex theory into visual, manageable modules using digital tools or interactive simulations.

Guided Practice (20 mins): Step-by-step collaborative problem-solving, focusing on avoiding common examiner "pitfalls."

Independent Synthesis (15 mins): Data-driven application where the student tackles a high-level task to demonstrate mastery.

Reflective Closing (5 mins): A quick audit of learning outcomes and a preview of the next conceptual link.

What Sets Me Apart
I bring a unique combination of academic depth (PhD in Chemistry) and examiner-level insight. Unlike standard tutoring, my sessions are informed by over 25 years of international leadership and a deep understanding of how global exams are graded. I provide students with "insider" assessment strategies that bridge the gap between knowing the content and scoring an elite grade. Furthermore, my training from Harvard and Columbia allows me to implement differentiated instruction, tailoring my pace and style to the specific psychological and academic needs of each learner.

Target Audience
My lessons are designed for students who are targeting high achievements and those aspiring for academic breakthroughs in:

IB Diploma Programme (SL/HL): Chemistry and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS).

Cambridge International: IGCSE, AS, and A-Level Chemistry.

American Curriculum: AP Chemistry and NGSS-aligned High School Chemistry.

University Preparation: Specialized coaching for students entering medical, engineering, or pure science degrees who require a rigorous foundation in advanced chemical principles.
