About Yanlin
I am a PhD student in Education at the University of Ottawa, with a Master’s degree in Economics and Education from Columbia University and previous study experience in Japan. My diverse international academic background allows me to understand language learning from cross-cultural, educational, and economic perspectives.
I am patient, detail-oriented, and highly experienced in working with multilingual learners. Having studied in multiple countries, I fully understand the challenges of acquiring academic English, building confident oral expression, and adapting to Western learning systems.
My teaching style is supportive, structured, and stress-free. I combine professional educational theory, analytical training from my Columbia program, and practical learning strategies to help students improve reading comprehension, logical speaking skills, and master effective SAT test-taking techniques.
