About Jude
As a PhD student in Cinema and Media Studies with years of teaching experience at both Purchase College and the University of Washington, I bring a deep understanding of reading, writing, and critical thinking across disciplines. I’ve worked with students of all ages, especially those transitioning into or navigating college-level work, and I tailor my support to meet each learner where they are. I’m committed to creating inclusive, affirming learning spaces, welcoming students of all backgrounds and identities, and I believe in building trust through clarity, encouragement, and respect. My teaching style balances academic rigor with approachability, always aiming to make complex concepts accessible and even enjoyable.

As a PhD student in the humanities with years of teaching experience, I help students grow their confidence in reading, writing, and test prep. My focus is on critical thinking, argumentation, and clarity — whether you’re tackling literature, college essays, or standardized exams.
My graduate research is in cinema and media studies, with a strong emphasis on analysis and academic writing (not filmmaking which is a common misconception).
