About David
Hi, I'm Dave. I'm a philosopher (PhD: logic and foundations of mathematics), as well as a grade school teacher. I've been an instructor, tutor, course/curriculum developer for 20 years now, in the classroom (virtual and physical), and across the learning spectrum. My grade school focus has been primarily in high school math education and math course/curriculum development, while my post-secondary experience is in the area of formal logic, foundations of mathematics, and various subjects in analytic philosophy. I have also taught post-secondary courses in linguistics, ethics, and Introduction to Philosophy. You name the topic in philosophy, I have experience teaching and tutoring about it.

The tutorial will depend on the student's current progress in his/her intro course. I have multiple texts on topics in Introduction to Philosophy courses, from handbooks on critical thinking, to first year texts on epistemology, ethics, phil. science/mind/language, to more advanced monographs and articles across the philosophy spectrum. I’m flexible as far as student needs and learning styles are concerned and can accommodate students desiring a more straightforward tutorial environment, something closer to a prof’s office hours setting, a classroom setting/structure, etc. We can cover individual concepts for greater clarity/understanding. We can do test/exam prep. Brushups. Lecture. Just let me know.

Perfect! He understood what my issue(s) were and proceeded to help me through them. He helped me grasp some of the ideas that escaped me originally.
- A very dedicated and motivated student. Came to the lesson well-prepared, making reviewing the topics a breeze. Rob made sure to make clear what understanding was desired, what understanding was achieved throughout the lesson, and what topics needed a bit more review.David's response :
