My teaching method is to present an idea, then ask my students what their intuitive responses are to it. I then try to unpack what their intuitive ideas are founded on, with an emphasise on who they and where they may have learned them. This puts their owns ideas in a context that they understand and allows them to reconceptualise new ideas in an engaging manner.
