Practise is the best way to learn maths so when teaching it, I begin by explaining a new concept to the student, then going through a few problems with them, then letting them go through some problems alone to highlight any problems so I can then explain and fix the problem. With the sciences, I use as many visual aids as possible because if you can see how something works, you will be able to understand it.
I am a physics student who has tutored secondary school students in maths and the sciences during my second year of university. I helped one student attain the grades needed to attend their choice of engineering college in Leeds and another to achieve far better results than their predicted grades for their GCSEs.
If I need to travel, I will add the cost of a return bus ticket to the prices and there is free cancellation provided I am notified before the day we arrange to meet.

I worked as a bartender and kitchen porter at the Black Horse in Thorndon. As a kitchen porter, I had to help prepare meals and wash dishes. This taught me how to work quickly under pressure whilst maintaining a high standard of service and improving my teamwork skills. I served drinks to people at the bar, operating the till and handling cash, and waited at tables when working as a bartender. This gave me good people skills and great attention to detail.

I have worked for Historic Promotions at events such as Donington Historic Festival and Flywheel Festival, helping to set up before the events and clear away after. I also took on any roles required during the duration of the events, improving my organisational skills, time management and versatility.
March 2017 – April 2018:
I tutored maths and the sciences to secondary school students which helped me to improve my patience and communication skills, especially with regards to teaching and explaining. Through this experience, I feel comfortable working with a wide range of people.
June 2017 – September 2018:
I worked on the bar at G-Wu restaurant in Leeds whilst at university. My bar skills greatly improved during my time here as I gained confidence in cocktail making and customer service. I also had to take take-away orders over the phone when the restaurant is very busy, improving my ability to multitask.
