About Derek
Many teachers over the years have lacked what I was requiring, that being the allowance to not be pushed into a product for the consumer. I had to teach myself, with guidance from the universe, how to be whole for myself allowing the expression to form, active listening in process informs the skill to act. So often the curiosity that drives art is lost from controlled direction without understanding. I'm big on asking "Why?", this is where the feelings/thoughts we wish to convey lie. We are the art, the outcome matters not, not being attached brings the clarity of each piece together as a whole. Being your mentor, I only work with one student at a time. You deserve my full engagement and support should we both choose. This is an equal partnership, both are student and teacher. Let's explore, get curious, get excited and learn together.
