About Rafi
Teaching is my greatest passion and I am always developing and refining my methodology. Over this last decade, I have developed a method which I strongly believe can get even the most unlikely students to the top of their classes. I was introduced to this approach when I was studying for my own school exams over 10 years ago. I was struggling in Maths, predicted an E grade and encouraged to drop the subject by my teacher. Instead, I ended up achieving an A* and a 97% average, the only student in my school to achieve an average over 95% over all 6 A Level maths papers. A few years later, I would go on to achieve a First class degree in BSc Political Economy from King's College London, graduating in the top 2% of my class. Not bad for an E grade prediction student! The secret was a more systematic approach that prioritised mastering the fundamentals first, as well as developing creativity and broader problem-solving skills, before moving on to repetition and exam-style questions. I had a brilliant tutor at the time who introduced me to this method, one that years later, I have developed and refined to help countless other students achieve both excellent grades in a range of different subjects, as well as a genuine passion for learning and personal development. As my approach requires a lot of preparation, I prefer to only take on a small number of students at any one time, usually up to 4/5 maximum. That allows me to fully commit to each student, to take the time to go through their past work in order to identify any patterns and gaps in their knowledge, to create a detailed, systematic, long-term plan for their learning, as well as to create homework, videos and other resources to support their learning outside of lessons. When I'm not tutoring, I coach football, a passion that perfectly aligns with my greater passion for teaching and mentoring. My specialities are English (all ages), Maths (all ages), essays (especially economics, politics and other humanities) and Science (A Level and below), though I have also tutored History and Geography in the past.

My lessons are focused, structured and highly tailored to every student's specific needs and personal learning style. I make significant effort to understand my students, to learn what motivates them and to appreciate their wider goals, passions and aspirations. This helps to inform my lessons, allowing me to put on inspiring, engaging and, most importantly, effective lessons. This is a tried and tested approach, helping countless students achieve both top marks and a genuine joy for study over my 10 years as a personal tutor.

I’ve know Rafi for many years as a keen and enthusiastic educator dedicated to ensuring the success of his students in a sustainable way. His care, diligence and work ethic towards his tutoring is second to none and I would highly recommend his services.
One of the main ways Rafi helped me progress was by making me believe in myself. He encourages us to continually improve ourselves. Funnily enough, the mentality instilled into me by Rafi transferred into other parts of my life, as I started to make more effort in other subjects in school!
Rafi has been a massive help preparing me for my GCSEs. He explains everything very well, and is very patient when it takes a little longer for me to understand something. He caters very well to my learning style and most importantly makes it enjoyable. Thank you very much for your help Rafi!
I have known Rafi for over 10 years, and in that time I have known him to be a committed, passionate, professional and intelligent tutor. Rafi has a great deal of tutoring experience as well as experience working with children through football coaching. He is incredibly organised and is considerate of his student’s learning styles and goals, and is a very engaging speaker. Rafi is also extremely reliable and takes a great deal of care to prepare interesting lessons thoroughly for each student. I would highly recommend Rafi to anyone looking for a tutor.
