About Emma
I am passionate about literature and spent three years at the University of Oxford, where I studied English Language and Literature with a specialism in Medieval Literature.
I then completed the Teach First Leadership Development Programme, where I gained Qualified Teacher Status and taught students aged 11-18 for three years.
My favourite thing to teach is Shakespeare, but I love books and poetry of all kinds and want to impart that love on to my students. I strongly believe that all students can grow to love reading with the right amount of practice, patience, and the right book.

I am a qualified Secondary English Teacher with three years teaching experience. I can teach students of all ages but have particular expertise with ages 11-18.
I have a First Class Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford. I have also worked as a GCSE English Language exam marker with AQA.
I am passionate about literature and take a supportive, personalised approach with students, aiming to build confidence and celebrate success in order to get the best from them. I can provide bespoke sessions fit to students' needs.
I can help students with reading fluency, spelling, punctuation and grammar, exam practice, help with a particular skill or topic, university applications - or whatever they need help with.
