About Abbie
I am a qualified ESL and Academic English teacher with around 12 years of teaching experience. I have worked mainly with high school and pre-university students in international education settings, helping learners prepare for academic study, exams, and university-level English requirements.
My teaching focuses on clear, structured support. I help students improve their academic writing, reading, grammar, vocabulary, paraphrasing, summarizing, and overall confidence in using English for study.
I understand that every student has different strengths, goals, and areas for improvement, so I adapt my lessons to suit each learner’s needs. My aim is to make Academic English easier to understand, more practical to use, and less overwhelming for students.

My tutoring approach is structured, supportive, and practical. I help students improve their Academic English by breaking down tasks, organizing ideas, developing clear paragraphs, using evidence, and improving vocabulary and sentence structure.
