Qualified history and humanities specialist secondary and sixth form teacher, working in London, Bsc 2:1 Political Philosophy, London School of Economics.

Methodology

Class teacher, ages 11-18, of all levels and backgrounds. I deliver highly academic, knowledge based lessons, focused on engaging students in the subject.

I have extensive experience of raising attainment though both peripatetic and classroom practice. I consider it the mark of a quality teacher to achieve the highest possible grades for their students, and I pursue this relentlessly.

My lessons are student centered; students let me know their weaknesses or the grade they are aiming for, and I structure a programme, dedicated to supporting their needs.

Experience

I have been working as a qualified secondary and sixth form teacher for three years. In this time I have taught hundreds of pupils of all abilities, leading students through both GCSE and A-Level examination. My specialism is history, however, I have taught politics, philosophy and English at secondary level.

In 2014, as 'Lead in Year 11 Achievement', I managed an initiative which raised the 5 A*-C GCSE pass rate in my school by 12%. The following year I secured a 3% increase in pass rates within the history department and a 78% A*-A rate for all GCSE history candidates.
