Hi, I’m Chloe, a passionate and dedicated teacher based in London with over six years of experience in education. I obtained my teaching qualification from the Institute of Education at University College London (UCL), where I developed a deep understanding of how to create effective, engaging learning experiences. I find teaching endlessly inspiring, and there’s nothing more rewarding than watching children not only grasp new concepts but also grow in confidence and curiosity. I take pride in tailoring my approach to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring that they feel supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.

I like to begin my lessons engaging the child and drawing their attention. This can be done through a simple game or fun activity. When starting the course of sessions together, it is important to get to know the child, their needs and areas of strength and weakness. It is important that they feel empowered and motivated so understanding their strengths is crucial. As mentioned, the lesson will be interactive as much as possible using a range of games, reading extracts and independent work that they can show or send me. Once the 'hook' activity has been done at the start of the lesson, I will aim to recap previous concepts taught before beginning to teach a new concept (whether that will be a new reading sound or writing concept in English). This ensures that each concept is solidified and secure before moving on to something new. A typical lesson will be between 45-60 minutes depending on the child's age. The younger the child, the shorter I suggest the lesson should be as it is important to keep them focused and engaged. My lessons can be tailored to any age but my strengths lie with children between the ages of 4-11.
