About Megan
Hello! I’m a trained teacher and dedicated English tutor who is passionate about helping students become confident, capable readers and writers.
My teaching approach is friendly and supportive. I create a relaxed environment where you can practise, ask questions, make mistakes, and improve without fear of judgement. I'll adapt my lessons to your individual needs and goals. I believe that effective learning should be practical, engaging, and tailored to each student.
We'll play games, read texts and write stories - and if you don't like writing stories then don't worry, I can still help you learn how to do it well.
If you need help with your handwriting I can help your writing get faster and neater.
If you are studying for a GCSE exam I'll help you really understand how to get vital marks.
If you are looking for a patient, encouraging, and professional tutor who will take your learning seriously, I would be delighted to help you on your English-learning journey.

I have a gentle and caring approach that helps build confidence and self-esteem for young people who may feel they have fallen behind and allows academically able children to fulfil their potential, experimenting without fear of judgement.
For primary age children I teach reading, handwriting and creative writing through games and fun, helping young people want to read and write.
For GCSE students I also break down the mark scheme and help young people with exam technique that can gain them vital points.
I have PGCE in secondary English from Goldsmiths and have been tutoring for four years.
