About Alex
I am currently teaching in numeracy learning support in a secondary school on Sydneys Northern Beaches. My job entails one-to-one tutoring for students falling behind in Mathematics in years 7 - 10, also NAPLAN preparation. I have taught grade 5 for two years, and overseas with mixed age, ability and ESL students in my own school managing many students with serious literacy and numeracy issues. I love individual tutoring, this is easily seen when i work and from the results that follow in the students grades.

Teaching is a dynamic career in which we are always provided with new and confronting situations that force us to question our own pedagogy. As students, curriculum, and school culture are constantly changing, as does my teaching style and method. With individual tutoring i have found that almost all students appreciate the feeling of success when they have conquered o concept in which before brought them agony. To see this response in them, fuels my motivation to teach and leaves both student and educator with a feeling of gratitude and fulfillment.
