Did you know, that to get anywhere in the STEM fields, you will need to be successful in Mathematics? Well, I am here to tell you that YES YOU DO! This usually scares people away from majoring and pursuing career training in these fields (Science, Biology, Chemistry, etc.), because they need to get through a lot of Math courses. I can help you get started, without making you feel like Math has to be hard!

In my experience, Math is hard. Most other people think Math is hard too. But, if you have a desire to get through some of the courses that will get you a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, Nursing, or the Medical Field, you HAVE to take some pretty high level Math courses. If you need help getting started with Math and are feeling unsure about your skills, I can help you. I have a Master’s degree in Biology, which means that I had to work pretty hard in my Math skills through Calculus in order to be successful in my field. I am skilled in anything from basic Mathematics through Algebra, and I can help you use these skills to prepare for higher level courses you might want to take - such as Biology or Chemistry. I can help you have more confidence as you head into these courses, and you will KNOW you can do it! My teaching style is to 1) get to know you and your learning style, 2) understand where you are with your Math skills, and 3) when possible, give you opportunities to use Math for real life problems so you aren’t left wondering, “Why do I need to know this?”.
