About Sivasri
I worked as a special educator at Vikas Vihar, Rashtriya Seva Samithi (RASS) which is a school for mentally challenged children in Tirupati for 16 years.
During my tenure in RASS, I have worked extensively with children in early intervention level to vocational level.
Apart from teaching, I was also assigned as a teacher for training children for special Olympics Bharat for 5 consecutive times, since I have successfully completed Community Coaches Training program (Level-1 and Level-2).
I have had trained children in cultural activities.
I was also a guest faculty for D.Ed.SE (MR) students from 2008 to 2018 and for B.Ed.SE (MR) from 2014 to 2015.
From 2017 to 2020, I worked as a guest faculty at Samatha Vidyalaya special school, Tirupati. In this period, I was the technical adviser for the special educators in the school. Other than this, I also handled one-on-one sessions for Autism, ADHD and mentally challenged children at Tirupati Speech and Hearing Centre, Tirupati.
Finally and above all, I also hold a graduate and post graduate degree in English and Sociology, respectively.

I would make sure I always do my homework / groundwork before meeting any student for the first time in a class or a session.
Based on my first meeting with a child, I shall observe and note down the child’s abilities and disabilities. Following which, I would design an individualized educational program plan (IEP) for that particular child.
The same methodology is applicable for group session as well.
Apart from my training, I strongly believe that parents play a pivotal role, in bringing up progressive developments in a child. Therefore, at the end of each class, I would talk to the concerned parent about the class and also provide them with suggestions/ homework which will aid in child’s development.
I firmly believe that there is always a scope of development for every individual. So, I am always open to constructive feedbacks from the parents. Hence, I collect weekly feedbacks from parents to implement the same in my teaching methodologies.
