About Akintunde

I am Afolabi Akintunde Emmanuel, a dedicated mathematics tutor with over six years of experience teaching students from elementary through high school. I have taught across Nigerian, UK, US, and Mexican curricula, and my focus now is helping US students of all grade levels build confidence, strengthen skills, and achieve success in math. My teaching style is patient, clear, and highly personalized. I break concepts into simple steps and use interactive strategies to make lessons engaging and relatable. Whether it’s helping younger students develop a strong foundation in arithmetic and problem-solving, or guiding older students through algebra, geometry, calculus, and exam preparation, I meet learners exactly where they are and support them every step of the way. What sets me apart is my commitment to each student’s growth. I don’t just teach math; I mentor, motivate, and create a safe space for learners to thrive. One of my proudest achievements was helping a young girl go from struggling in math to earning an A in her higher-level mathematics.

About Me as a Tutor

My name is Afolabi Akintunde Emmanuel, and I am a dedicated mathematics tutor with over six years of experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds. I have worked with a range of international curricula, but my focus now is helping US students gain confidence and achieve success in mathematics.

My Teaching Method

I believe every student can succeed in math when lessons are clear, supportive, and engaging. My approach is to break complex ideas into simple, step-by-step explanations while connecting them to real-life situations. I use interactive tools and visual strategies to make abstract concepts easier to understand. I also pay close attention to students who feel left behind, creating a safe space for them to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow without judgment.

A Typical Lesson

Each lesson begins with a quick review of what the student already knows. I then introduce the new topic in a way that feels approachable and logical. Together, we practice problems, gradually moving from guided examples to independent work. At the end, we reflect on what was learned, celebrate progress, and set clear goals for next time. This balance of structure and flexibility ensures that students leave each session feeling more confident than when they started.

What Sets Me Apart?

What makes me unique as a tutor is the way I invest in my students’ growth. I don’t just teach math—I mentor and motivate. I make sure every student feels seen and supported, especially girls who sometimes lack confidence in math. One of my proudest achievements was helping a young girl move from struggling with math to earning an A in her higher-level mathematics exam. For me, success is not only about grades but also about building a strong sense of self-belief.

Who My Lessons Are For?

* Middle and high school students in the US (grades 6–12).
* Students preparing for exams such as SAT Math, ACT Math, or AP-level courses.
* Learners who find math difficult and need patient, step-by-step support.
* Advanced students who want to deepen their problem-solving and analytical skills.

My lessons are designed for any student in the US who wants to replace fear of mathematics with confidence, clarity, and lasting success.
