About Kathleen
I taught in a public school system for 31 years and retired in 2005. Both my bachelors degree and masters degree were in special education. Since I retired, I have privately taught students in person and online. The range of ages of the students were from kindergarten to 6th grade. I have helped students to improve their skills in reading, writing, and math.

Students need to become confident in both reading and spelling all types of words. Phonics skills are developed by using the Orton Gillingham phonics program. Once the student is able to develop fluency in reading, he/she can easily comprehend what he/she has read.
