About Merced
My name is Merced Almanza. I am an educator with more than twelve years of K–12 classroom experience in Texas and California, now based in Sacramento. I am completing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which strengthens my ability to support focus, organization, and confidence in students. Families trust me for clear expectations, consistent communication, and respectful guidance. I prepare carefully, track progress, and give honest feedback so students grow in English, reading, and writing with steady results.

My name is Merced Almanza. I teach English, reading, and literature with clear structure and patient coaching. I start with a short assessment to find skill gaps, then we work through guided reading, vocabulary, grammar review, and step-by-step essay writing with revision. I use routines from my 12+ years in K–12 classrooms and my counseling training to build focus and accountability. My lessons are for upper elementary, middle school, and high school students who need help with reading comprehension, essays, literary analysis, homework support, or exam preparation.
