I also have experience aiding those who are struggling with a topic in subjects including calculus. -while the content may differ based on needs, the main goal of the lesson is to not just teach how to do something, but what it means and why you are/aren’t allowed to do it that way.
An example for a lesson plan for the basics of fractions might look like this:
Goal: The student understands what a fraction is, why they’re important, and the basic operations done on fractions
Materials:
remote: notebook, writing utensil, calculator
In person- calculator, notebook
Subjects:
-where decimals fail
-what a fraction is/means
-comparing fractions
-fraction addition
-fraction subtraction
-fraction multiplication
-fraction division
While many teachers only teach the method, the reasoning is just as important for people to build a strong foundation in mathematics and i strive to provide that reasoning as best as possible.
Lessons are for any mathematics subject below college calculus not including statistics.
