About Zac
Kia ora!
I'm Zac, I am in my second year of a BA at Otago Uni.
If there is anything that I excel at, it is writing. I managed to maintain merit-excellence on every essay I wrote in high school, yet not achieved in anything mathematical.
My workload at university is predominately composed of essay writing or writing research reports, so I have honed my skills further.

I believe tutoring should be a balance between helping a student through a specific task they may be struggling with, and teaching a creative and critical approach for formulating original ideas.
Memorising or regurgitating relevant facts and definitions never gets an excellent grade on its own. I have a knack for creating and stimulating thoughts about concepts that result in a nuanced understanding. Nuance = Grades.
I have tutored classical studies briefly in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the process.
Because of my degree I am most suited to essay writing, but also have skills in creative writings and research reports.
I would think myself qualified to teach NCEA english & classical studies proficiently for levels 1-3.
A lesson may be 30 to 90 minutes, I prioritise flexibility here. Some tasks can be done quickly but I accept that understanding bigger ideas takes time to do well.
