About David
I’m a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) with a strong academic background across the sciences, mathematics, and social sciences. I earned a 36 composite ACT score, including perfect 36 scores in Math, Reading, and Science and a 35 in English.
My coursework includes AP Biology, AP Psychology, AP Microeconomics/Macroeconomics, AP Precalculus, AP U.S. History, and AP Seminar, among other advanced AP/Honors courses, and I have earned A’s across these subjects.
Outside the classroom, I have pursued science at the research level. In 2026, I was invited to present LesionBank, a 3D neuroscience research platform I helped develop with a team at Harvard Medical School, at the American Academy of Neurology Annual Conference. I have also done research with a team at Dartmouth and am a third author on a paper currently pending publication at Nature Science Journal
I believe one of my greatest strengths as a tutor is patience. Difficult subjects often become much easier when they are explained from a different perspective, so I use clear examples, step-by-step explanations, and plenty of practice to help students genuinely understand the material rather than simply memorize it.
I can tutor biology and AP Biology; sociology, anthropology, psychology, economics, and other social sciences; mathematics through precalculus; AP U.S. History; and ACT preparation. Whether a student is struggling with a class or aiming for the highest possible score, I adapt my teaching to their goals and learning style.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs, whether they are trying to strengthen foundational concepts, prepare for an upcoming test, improve their grades, or get ahead in class. I focus on making difficult ideas easier to understand by breaking them into manageable steps and connecting them to examples that actually make sense.
A typical lesson begins with identifying what the student is struggling with or wants to accomplish. We then review the relevant concepts, work through examples together, and finish with practice problems or questions that allow the student to apply what they learned independently. I adjust the pace and teaching style throughout the lesson depending on what works best for the student.
As a senior at TJHSST with a strong background in biology, pre-medical sciences, and the social sciences, I understand what it is like to take challenging courses and learn complex material under pressure. I try to teach not only the content itself, but also the study and problem-solving strategies that helped me succeed in rigorous classes.
My lessons are best suited for middle and high school students, including students taking honors or AP-level courses. I am especially comfortable helping students with biology and related sciences, as well as social science subjects.
