About Javon

What sets me apart is my real-world experience as an actor, playwright, director, producer, filmmaker and mentor. My teaching is grounded not only in technique, but in years of hands-on experience developing productions, directing performers, writing stories, and working within professional creative environments. I understand both the artistic and professional demands of the entertainment industry and help students become stronger, more confident performers with authentic creative voices.

My lessons are designed for beginners, intermediate actors, advanced performers, theater students, film actors, and creatives preparing for auditions, showcases, performances, or professional opportunities. Lessons can be tailored for children, teens, college students, and adults based on their experience level, goals, and individual learning style.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching acting is rooted in truth, instinct, emotional connection, and professional discipline. I believe great acting is not about pretending — it is about fully understanding human behavior, relationships, vulnerability, and storytelling. Whether a student is pursuing acting professionally or simply looking to build confidence and creativity, I create a supportive but challenging environment that pushes each actor to grow authentically.

My teaching method combines scene study, character analysis, improvisation, emotional accessibility exercises, script breakdown, audition preparation, and on-camera technique. I help students develop a deeper understanding of character motivation, emotional stakes, subtext, and truthful listening. I also focus heavily on helping actors break unhealthy performance habits and become more grounded, natural, and emotionally available in their work.

A typical lesson may include:
-Warm-up and presence exercises
-Improvisation and instinct-building activities
-Script and character analysis
-Scene work with live coaching and adjustments
-Audition technique and self-tape preparation
-Confidence building and emotional truth exercises
-Industry insight for professional actors pursuing film, television, and theater opportunities
-What sets me apart is my real-world experience as an actor, playwright, director, producer, and filmmaker. I teach not only from theory, but from years of practical experience developing stage productions, independent films, and working with performers in professional creative environments. I understand both the artistic and business sides of the entertainment industry and help students build not only stronger performances, but stronger creative confidence overall.

My lessons are designed for:
-Beginner actors discovering performance for the first time
-Intermediate and advanced actors seeking deeper emotional work
-Theater and film actors
-Students preparing for auditions, showcases, or performances
-Young artists interested in creative expression and confidence building
-Serious performers pursuing professional careers in entertainment
-Lessons can be tailored for children, teens, college students, and adults depending on experience level and individual goals.

Beyond just teaching, I offer professional industry mentorship for those serious about pursuing a career.

Javon isn’t just a talented actor and coach, he’s a decent human being. When I was a kid, I saw him in an outdoor drama that he was in a few summers in a row prior to becoming a well-known actor. I was so excited every time I went that he remembered me and made me feel like the most important person in the world. He had nothing to gain by being kind to me, it’s just who he is. If you work with him, he’ll treat you like the most important person in the world as well.
