About Brooklyn
I am still a student. I am in an early college program and will graduate in May. Upon graduating, I have plans to transfer to a university in Nashville to pursue a music education degree. I have taken guitar lessons for right at six years, and voice lessons for about three years. In the six years I've been taking guitar lessons, I have helped teach summer courses for beginners on guitar. These were group lessons to begin with, but as I progressed as a teacher, I was given the opportunity to teach one-on-one lessons during the summer, which I enjoyed immensely.

I like a very hands-on approach in teaching. So, I like to start with vocalizing what is being taught and what is going to be learned during the lesson, demonstrate, then turn it over to the student for their turn. My lessons would be perfect for absolute beginners who are just getting into playing guitar. I would start with the very basics. I think what sets me apart is that I'm still learning as well. I have the basics down pat, but there is always something more to learn, so I think since I'm still learning new things about playing guitar, it keeps my knowledge up. Most lessons would have a basic routine: assess current knowledge, review (from previous lesson if applicable), and work on whatever seems appropriate dependent on the student/circumstances.
