About Basile

Hello ! My name is Basile and I am currently in second year at Sciences Po Paris. Originally from Chamonix in Haute-Savoie, I went to Paris as part of my studies. Graduated with a Scientific Baccalaureate, mention Very Good with Congratulations from the Jury, I have always found myself well in school and learning. From the 5th grade I volunteered for tutoring activities for younger students, activities from which I emerged, I think, grew up. As part of odd jobs, I continued to help with homework, especially at the Lycée. I also completed a Patent Preparation internship last year at the Janson College in Sailly which brought me a lot in terms of methodology. Within SciencesPo, I am responsible for the Literature pole of the Arts Office and also a member of the association for the integration of international students :-)

About the lesson

I firmly believe that a student accompanied by an older student progresses all the more. A tutor indeed has a double advantage: he is closer to the student in terms of age and therefore still remembers many of the requirements and expectations while having more time to grant his questions and his difficulties than a professor couldn't. In addition, beyond the academic issue, my personal experience leads me to believe that there is also an issue of student confidence in his own abilities which can only be better done in a relationship not as vertical as that of the French school system. As for the organization of the lessons I split them into 3 objectives: 1) The lessons - it will first be a question of identifying the weak points / the strong points of the student - reviewing the lessons properly talk and dwell on concepts - the challenge is of course to learn the course but also to understand the latter 2) The method Most of the subjects of College and High School have a common form: the dissertation. The dissertation method is essential and not that complicated once we understand what the teachers expect from us. These are particularly the subjects where it is necessary to write: French // History-Geography // Philosophy ect ... The method in Mathematics and Physics is also more or less repetitive once it is incorporated! 3) Exercise I think this is the most important part for a successful homework help. Through exercise, the student appropriates both the knowledge he has acquired as well as the method of exercise itself. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
