About Rayan
I'm currently in my third year at McGill University, studying Computer Science and Mathematics. Balancing a demanding academic workload has given me strong discipline and a deep, practical understanding of the math concepts I teach, from algebra to calculus. I've always enjoyed helping classmates and friends work through problems they were stuck on, and I bring that same patience and clarity to tutoring. As a Computer Science student, I have a strong foundation in mathematics and I understand what it's like to struggle with certain concepts, which shapes how I teach. Rather than following a rigid script, I start each lesson by identifying exactly where the student is stuck and what's causing the confusion. A typical lesson involves reviewing the underlying concept together, working through practice problems step by step, and ending with a short exercise to reinforce what we covered. What sets me apart is that I focus on building real understanding and problem-solving skills, not memorization — I explain the "why" behind every formula and method so it actually sticks. My lessons are ideal for middle school and high school students working on algebra, geometry, trigonometry, or calculus, and I adapt my pace and explanations to match each student's level and learning style.
