About Shigyō Alexander Marrero
I am a Zen Buddhist monk with 15 years of writing experience and 10 years of teaching experience. I have a degree in nonfiction writing and the social sciences, and specialize in teaching students how to navigate their worlds by engaging with writing and communication. I am currently working on a Doctor of Ministry degree studying writing and education through Zen--helping people learn to stay calm and graceful communicating to the world.

My teaching focuses heavily on building up the intuition and and creative skills that allow students of any age and ability to engage with their worlds fully through writing. Students will finish my lessons with extraordinary writing confidence and a newfound ability to communicate complex, emotional, and/or uncertain topics with grace and ease. Learning to write in this way, students will discover more clarity, ease, and happiness in other areas of daily life as well.
